About Niederrhein Nord

Niederrhein Nord is an independent travel guide for the northern Lower Rhine, between the Rhine, the Reichswald forest and the Dutch border. In one place we bring together what visitors and locals really want to know about the region: attractions, hotels, restaurants, towns, events and cultural life - from the Roman town of Xanten and Kleve's Swan Castle to the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer and Moyland Castle. Our goal is a fast, clearly labeled overview instead of confusing link lists.

Our editorial standards

Every attraction, hotel and restaurant is selected editorially and described with our own contextual text - not pulled automatically from directories. We apply transparent criteria: relevance to Niederrhein Nord, location within its district, price orientation and an honest assessment of who a place is worth it for. We check opening hours, price anchors and similar details to the best of our knowledge, but cannot guarantee they are up to date - in case of doubt, the official source of the respective provider always applies.

How we select content

Our selection follows a curated approach: we include places that characterize the Lower Rhine or are practically relevant for a stay - from the Archaeological Park in Xanten and the towns to the major occasions such as the Kevelaer pilgrimage or the Geldern street-painting festival.
